HOLLYWOOD After a nearly decadelong absence, Oscar- and Emmy-winning scribe-producer
James L. Brooks is set to return to live-action TV comedy next season as exec
producer of a half-hour comedy starring thesp Joan Cusack. Scribe Gwen Macsai
created the project.
ABC in close to committing to a minimum 13 segs of the Columbia TriStar Television
laffer; targeted for a midseason 2000-01 debut.
The series, still in the early stages of development, will be a romantic comedy
based on a persona from the 1988 radio series "Lip Schtick."
