ABC's "What About Joan" and CBS' "The District" have added
new cast members as they prepare for their sophomore seasons in the fall.
Jeff Garlin ("Mad About You") is joining the cast of "Joan,"
produced by James L. Brooks, while Jonathan LaPaglia ("Seven Days" )
is headed for "The District," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Garlin, who is also an executive producer and co-star on Larry David's HBO
comedy "Curb Your Enthusiasm," will pull double duty playing Kyle Chandler's
longtime best friend.
On "The District," which stars Craig T. Nelson as a Washing D.C.
police commissioner, LaPaglia will play a police officer who will become partnered
with Det. Temple Page (Sean Patrick Thomas).
Garlin's other credits include the films "Bounce," "RoboCop
3" and "Senseless." He was also a host on NBC's "Late Friday."
LaPaglia appeared in the films "Deconstructing Harry" and "Origin
of the Species," as well as the series "NY Undercover."
